Mochys

Mochys wasn't aware of the family debt. He lived his life day by day just enjoying the simplicity of it. His family had a well-known book-binding business that he helped with from time to time as well as running a library. Behind his back, his parents had to devise plans to keep the library afloat as their business just wasn't getting enough business to cut it. They gathered funding from a kind soul, promising to repay the debt withing a few years. Unfortunately for them, they ran out of time to gather the funds to pay their debt.

The quiet and bookish young man was surprised to learn of the debt but he was even more surprised when the lender himself came by. He demanded payment right in front of Mochys and his parents scrambled to explain it to their son. The lender made an offer. Either pay the money that moment or hand over their son to work for him and consider the debt gone. It was a confusing offer but Mochys accepted without his parents saying a word. If he could help, he wanted to. Besides, the lender didn't seem too terrible of a person. He couldn't seem to see the ominous look about him.

He went along with the strange dragon, not realizing just what he was going to be doing for his 'work'. It all clicked into place whenever he was brought to the Arena. The fighting, the violence, the bloodshed, it was all so senseless and he was going to be one of the ones performing for the crowd.
