Biography
Lovebugs
Lovebugs are dragons attracted to the love other dragons have for one another, some hop from lair to lair while other settling into one lair and stay there their whole life. Overall cheerful and very social lovebugs will seek out company in other dragons, both lovebug and non lovebug dragons. Lovebugs are social to the extreme; if one is deprived of social interactions for a long period time they’ll become tired, sluggish, depressed and eventually fall ill, which can be fatal for them.
Having a lovebug living in a lair is said to be a sign good health and relationships, which is to some extend true. Lovebugs will help other dragons finding partners and help sorting out issues a couple may have to the best of their abilities, if unable to help they’ll try finding another lovebug that can.
The heart shaped markings on a Lovebug’s body and wings are for more than just show, in the dark they can make them glow softly at will, this display is used to communicate with other lovebugs that they’re interested in finding a partner. A pair or small group of them will gather at night and start a dance to determine if they’ll be a good match for each other. They begin by swaying their bodies slowly from side to side while flaring out their wings, if two or more lovebugs ends up dancing in perfect sync they’ll take to the sky and preformed a synchronized aerial dance that typically last most of the night, a display other dragons find beautiful and enjoyable to watch.
These dragons hate fighting and will rub their insect like legs together to produce a sweet smelling scent that have a calming effect on the surrounding dragons to stop fighting or avoid it whenever they can. That isn’t to say they don’t know how to fight, if forced to fight they’ll start out by trying to bite their opponent, their fangs containing a strong sleeping agent, this is usually enough to end most fights. In the cases it doesn’t they’ll use their horns with great efficiency to subdue the opponent, they will never kill unless they have no choice.
