Lightheart

Don't let her bright eyes and gentle demeanor fool you - Lightheart was named not for her element, but for the way she cared so little for others' plights. It was her lightheartedness toward her siblings leaving the nest, and the troubles they endured, that drove her hard-working parents to demand she take her uncaring ways somewhere else. She tried to explain herself before leaving, but they didn't believe her. It wasn't that she was heartless, but that most dragons and their daily woes simply did not interest her. Her parents would have none of it, and sent her away with supplies and pointed her in the direction of nearby clans.

She eventually found her way to Ash Haven through Runeguard, a rather aggressive, fiery tundra who found her wandering through . There was something mysterious about him, and she was instantly drawn to whatever he was hiding. It took many years of work before she heard what atrocities he'd been planning, but was never able to accomplish on his own. She loved his planning and ambition, and began to assist in whatever way she could, by luring dragons away from key locations with her air of authority and seemingly gentle nature. For months they teamed up, but never quite successfully pulled off any heists or stunts as they intended, and so, she grew weary of his antics.

Already having grown used to the quiet life in Ash Haven- and the easy-going nature of most dragons who didn't have the heart to tell her she needed to pull her weight- she was not yet ready to leave the encampment after her failed romance with the tundra Runeguard. After sulking around for a couple of weeks, she shrugged off the silliness of it all, and decided it was time to move on with her life.

That's when she met him. A strange being who claimed to be a fae named Echo. He'd been in the clan for a long time, so he said, but she clearly had no recollection of the being before her. Had she even met this fae before? He seemed rather young for his statements of being there as long as he claimed. His frills moved strangely, and, again, there was an air of mystery about him, which made him all the more interesting than the typical dragon. Her interest was piqued, and she simply had to know more!

She began to meet with this "Echo" in secrecy, slowly gaining his trust enough for him to open up to her on the touchy subject of what he really is, and why he attempted to take Echo's place in the clan. Knowing she was full of curiosity, but had little interest in the daily drama of other dragons, he hesitantly began to share his story over several weeks.

She found that RazedEcho is a spiritual mimic, a beast that's not quite whole without a physical host to leech from, or he finds himself incorporeal and hollow. In order to leech from another beast, he must seal them away in a personal trinket: something he has also bound his soul to, so the two are connected in mind and body. Unfortunately, his abilities and corporeal form are based solely on his success in keeping the beast sealed away, and anyone who may know the original beast must be fully convinced he is who he says he is.

The less they believe him, the more power the original will have over him, and the more likely the seal is broken. While he may be solid for a short time after, his physical form will slowly be shed away like ashes from a fire. In his normal, spiritual form, he is physically unable to move his personal trinket from its place.

To this day, Lightheart is the only one who really understands the intense weight upon the mimic's soul, what he must do to survive as other dragons do, and she has stuck by his side ever since. She has also helped him move his personal trinket to a new location, so that the real Echo would not be tempted to go back and remove it.
