Maleficent

Apostle insisted their next destination be Lume, a town in the land of Light, Maleficent's least favourite land. It took some discussing before Maleficent begrudgingly agreed, demanding it be a short stay. She wouldn't have gone for anyone else other than Apostle, her mate was rather endearing when he got excited about something. He'd been talking about the golden chapel and it's mysteries, the town's surrounding and different groups without stop after learning about it. Perhaps Apostle's annoying chittering also played a role in Maleficent agreeing to the trip.

When the pair arrived to the town maleficent refused to speak to the dragons more than necessary, coming off rather cold, but the dragons didn't seem to mind to much and always gave her a kind smile. Besides Apostle was excited and chatty enough for the both of them. They were shown around town, Apostle happily asking questions about every place they passed while Maleficent just quietly followed and observed the dragons. The town was bright, too bright for her, when they were finally offered a room in the chapel she chose to stay in it with the curtains drawn while her mate explored the Chapel.

Apostle enjoyed the chapel, the interior was elegant and full of history. Murals adorned the walls speaking of the Chapel's past. He had been confused why the gigantic castle was called a chapel still but the walls told the story of a once small building dedicated to the worship of sun built into the castle it is now in order to protect Banescales from the war the sun foretold. He saw the story of two Banescales building it, stocking it with books, making a garden full of ancient flora, using magic to protect it, communing with a yet unknown god to make relations with the ancients surrounding it to give the newly built castle life. As he continued he saw the story of a hatchlings born with bright yellow eyes to the Banescales who built the castle, he saw them discovering the hatchlings had powers not seen before and then Apostle saw a mural of a war beginning when they came to an abrupt end. He wondered if all was true and what followed eager to tell all of it to his Mate.

Maleficent was almost asleep when Apostle came back to the room, she was tired but Apostle had such a eager smile on his face she couldn't help but ask him about his day. He talked about all that he learned and she tried to stay awake throughout it all but could not fight sleep off forever. Her mates words slowly lulled her to sleep.

They stated for a few more days, Maleficent ready after some rather good rest to join Apostle in exploration. While he explored the culture and asked about history she continued to observe the dragons. She expected them to be upright and perhaps too proud of their many rules that they followed meticulously. Such things never came. All the dragons were humble and easy going, always happy to serve and help them, refusing to take any payment the two offered. They would happily suggest them where to go next, what else was worth seeing and how to get there. Each day the pair ended up being exhausted but each day Apostle learned more about history and Maleficent more about the dragons.

The last day they stayed the night in the grand gardens of the chapel, they got a blanket from the dragon who greeted them upon landing and many different foods, drinks and some books from the place they visited. The sky was lit up by soft yellow fireflies, the light playing on the colorful flowers. The two tried a bit of every food as Apostle talked about his discoveries and Maleficent happily listened. It was a lovely time for the both of them.

When morning came they packed and left for the next place. This time Maleficent chose.

"Perhaps the land of light isn't all that bad, at least this place."

Maleficent said to her beaming mate as they flew below the sun.

After some exploration in the land of water, Maleficent and Apostle ended up taking a detour through Singer's Brook, where they came across Whisperwood Clan. The large community was full of exciting things to explore.
They were first welcomed by Orion, who offered them a drink and a room to stay. The cafe was small, but welcoming, and Apostle happily accepted for the both of them.

"Have you been traveling long?"

While Apostle recounted their adventures, Maleficent finished the tea Orion had brewed. "Though, this is our first time in Wind territory."
"Well, I'm excited for you." Orion poured another cup of tea. "You must have a lot of stories to tell. Perhaps you can share a few over your stay?"
Apostle beamed at Maleficent, and she smiled back softly. "I'm sure Apostle would be happy to."

After many stories shared and many sights seen, the 2 decided it was a good time to move on. It was Apostle's turn to choose now, and Maleficent was curious to see where they wouId end up next.
