[There are many things withheld about her background as not to spoil my story in progress, The Opal Masque. However, they may be revealed, regardless, through her interactions with others.]

All That Glitters

Fina Reid is a woman both literally and metaphorically shrouded in darkness. Little is known about who she is or where she came from. One day she emerged under Eric Savage, the manipulative leader of the King’s Men, controlling power of Stormhaven’s underground.

The woman, no more than a ten year-old girl at the time, was already robed head to toe in what would become her iconic sable cloak. Under Savage’s tutelage, she became a thief’s swiss army knife, being able to pick locks, disarm security and travel to places her larger compatriots could not. Yet more than simple theft, he taught her to be his protege, an assassin in the making. As Eric grew older and farther away from his prime, Fina began taking up more of his dangerous operations. Word spread of Eric’s guardian angel and so she earned the moniker, the Black Angel. However, she did not become Savage’s successor as he had hoped. Instead, Fina betrayed him at the age of sixteen, taking with her a sizeable amount of his fortunes and men who had decided to tie their loyalties to a younger more attractive employer.

Despite her bold move, she was still only one girl. For years, she struggled to hold onto her finances, desperately searching for clients who would hire someone so young. Fina and her new ‘company,’ the Sable Sails, took on any and all jobs as long as they paid. For years, Fina struggled to keep herself afloat while gaining experience and credibility while building her reputation as the mysterious ‘Sable Seraph.’

One day, her break finally came as the crippled Eric Savage began to make his comeback. In a game of spies, she uncovered one of his operations and made sure that the failure was spectacular. The Black Angel struck his reputation yet another blow, hurling her into the spotlight and into her former master’s eternal hatred. Now, the Seraph had become a name feared in Stormhaven’s undercity.

Wielding the beauty she had taken years to hone and the mystique she had maintained, Fina searches for one thing: gold. Stories spread, saying how her golden eyes had given her a lust for the precious metal, yet the tales are far from the truth. To Fina, money is only a means to an end with her ultimate goal being to dethrone Savage and becoming Stormhaven’s undisputed Queen of Thieves. Yet, the reason why a person like Fina would aim for such a goal is known only to her.

Valoran Enterprise

Unlike her prior experiences in Stormhaven, the multiple political agendas of Valoran’s city-states provides both a wealth of opportunity and difficulty to maneuver around. Fina primary occupation is as an information broker, gathering rumors that float about the land and verifying their accuracy in addition to collecting the disparate tidbits of miscellaneous data and analyzing them for sale. She aims to provide information to each city-states wealthier investors, furthering their plans regardless of morality. Aside from her main enterprise, Fina is more than willing to run less legal operations such as theft, vandalism, and any other task she is paid to do.

Despite her proclivity for grey moral jobs, Fina does not approve of senseless murder. However, she cares little for the lives of dishonest individuals, herself included, and reflects the sentiment through reckless approaches to accomplishing her contracts. Many of her clients consider her regulations convoluted as a result.

Being a newcomer to Valoran, Fina often competes with other similar competitors. As such, her network of informants and resources are small though constantly growing. Her center of business is in the rough city-state of Bilgewater that still suffers from bouts of lawlessness though Miss Fortune and others are trying to reform the state. From there, Fina has begun to make associates in Zaun and Noxus where ruthless practices are apart of the status quo. After tension caused by Jinx, Fina has taken an interest in progressing towards Piltover.

Mental Health

Fina is stricken with PTSD, post traumatic stress disorder. Despite the ambiguous origins of her condition, several people have witnessed abnormal moments of tension in the young woman when she is near uncontrolled fires and thugs. However, others have just passed it off as part of her normally uptight nature.

After years of keeping her face and figure a secret, coupled with an unhealthy distrust in other, Fina has also developed OCD-like tendencies. Her morning routines are methodical and a source of comfort in her convoluted life. Accordingly, she tends to be dressed the same day in and out, prim and proper. Fina can also be quite vain about her appearance and supposed beauty, though most find that a strange trait considering she has never shown her face publicly.

Personality and Genetics

Fina Reid is a vain woman, who always tries her best to look alluring and perfect. Due to past circumstances, she is mistrusting of anyone she meets with very few able to pass the hurdles needed to gain her trust. Despite her insistence on being a ruthless person, she is not completely apathetic and more sympathetic than she would like to acknowledge. Fina has a humorously large sweet tooth, a fact that she is embarrassed and reluctant to admit to.

The Myers-Briggs Personality Type ISTJ is an acronym that stands for Introverted Sensing Thinking Judging. Though all personality types are a balance of opposites, the Myers-Briggs Test aims to categorize and simplify general personality types. This is an easy way to summarize a character in a universally known manner.

Introversion is Fina’s usual social type. Though she is very verbose and capable of dancing her way through a political battlefield, she finds little value from social bonds in general and finds them exhausting to keep up. However, like most introverts, she does let select people under her skin. Introversion is not a fear of social contact, but a preference for more concentrated and individualized approaches. Fina only overcomes her introversion when she see a target worth exploiting. Such distrust of others is toxic to a person’s health however.

Fina prefers to perceive the world through her senses, landing her in the Sensing category instead of Feeling. As the name implies, this type of perception relies on the body’s senses to gather information logically and factually. She tends to bottle her feelings, covering them with cold logic and causing negative emotions to build up and eat away at her from within.

As people go through the world, they make judgements about the nature of things. According to Myers and Briggs, people either Think about something of Feel it. Fina by her nature and past rationalizes the world in order to dissect its exploitable flaws, regardless of how she feels about it. Problems occur when she feels one way about something while her mind says the opposite. Such a tense situation causes cognitive dissonance for her, a separation of how she acts and thinks. In those moments, her collected composure cracks and exposes the true person beneath.

When it comes down to making a decision, this test boils the choice down to reliance on Judging or Perceiving. Fina is methodical and calculating, planning out every detail of her operations before execution. Naturally, as a rogue, this mindset is quite beneficial and falls under the Judging category. Judging can be understood in the metaphor “look before you leap” while Perceiving can be interpreted as “jumping in head first.” Unfortunately for Fina, when her bottled emotions break lose, her logical way of thinking and acting are thrown into complete disarray, leading to rash and, ironically, illogical decisions.

Stormhaven - More information found [here]

Stormhaven is a rich port town clinging to existence on the state of Antinoria’s eastern coast. For centuries, survivors of the old war clung to cliff-side like barnacles, eking out their existence. As time passed and humanity regained its old splendor, the city rose to prominence as the passage between the sheer cliffs and the roiling seas. The city thrives on trade from the east, creating a grossly inflated trader class. Artisans and working class citizens suffer under inflated, monopolized prices and a lack of available raw material.

Each town in the world is based around a central means of power before branching out, and Stormhaven relies on a rudimentary hydroelectric facility located at the feet of the waterfall in the town’s heart. Unfortunately, the town grew faster than it could develop leading to spotty electrical power and frequent blackouts.

The town lays divided in three, the sky, land, and under districts, forming Stormhaven’s castes. The sky district is located atop the towering cliffs and is literally the town’s upper class, filled with rich and splendid homes and streets. The architecture is decorated and is suited to the gaudy tastes of its inhabitants. At the bottom of the sheer cliffs and stone staircase lies the ground city. The middle class here struggle to survive while politics and vital repairs happened above and below. The undercity is stricken with extreme poverty and comprised mainly of convicts turned slaves who are forced to repair the streets of the city above their heads for life. It is in the dark corners of the pipe works that the battle for the underworld takes place.

The port is a spectacle of the world comprised of two tiered docks. Ships entering the town docked in the undercity while experimental airships of all kinds anchored themselves to the ground city. Naturally, a port is a melting pot of ideas from all over the world as they pass from land to sea. As a result many experiments can be seen taking place in strange places.
