Biography

V E S Y R N
— Arcane Ambassador —

gsDuIQ6.gif

"And who are you? Isn't everyone in this clan supposed
to report to me? WHY IS NO ONE LISTENING?!"

gsDuIQ6.gif

"Ahem, when are you going to mention ME?" The minuscule purple Veilspun crosses his arms with a huff, hovering inches in front of the Guardian's nose. "Oh, yes, apologies." The Guardian speaks sincerely, seemingly well accustomed to the Veilspun's antics. "This is Vesyrn, my assistant who contributes no small amount to my duties."

"Excuse you, that's SENIOR Ambassador — not assistant!" Vesyrn interrupts before turning to you to continue his introduction himself. "Legally and contractually speaking, I am of equal position to Rosalie here. Some may say even MORE important - not me of course, I am very humble." Still midair, he takes a "humble" bow. "I work tirelessly day and night to assist the dragons of this clan with any need they may have. You see, it takes a great deal of effort to put up with their whining and to delegate each proposed task to my partner here." He gestures to Rosalie, who seems completely unfazed by the Veilspun's manner of speech.

You turn helplessly towards Asteria, who bemusedly sits to the side and watches the events unfold. For once, you wish she would go back to her usual interrupting nature.

"... and that's the reason why I'm not allowed in the Moonlit Maren on Sundays!" The Veilspun seemed to have gone on an entire tangent while you were casting pleading glances to Asteria. Having no idea what it was he just said, you offer a small round of applause. Looking greatly pleased with himself, Vesyrn zips back behind Rosalie and stuffs himself into her satchel. Finally, Asteria pipes back up again.

"Do you feel properly introduced yet?" You don't hesitate to nod, ignoring Asteria's smug look as she guides the two of you away. "Had to show you I wasn't the only blabbermouth in this place!"

Grouse Basilisk Field Notes

Asteria's Entry on Vesyrn:

Author's Note: The following entry is incredibly detailed. This should not be mistaken for conjecture - Vesyrn is simply incapable of not talking about himself.

Vesyrn is the clan's self-appointed Principal Elite Arcane Ambassador™ (not to mention the only arcane ambassador) who originated from the Arcane Domain. After many long years (maybe an hour) of training (begging to be given the responsibility), Vesyrn was given the great honor of flying from CayDoodles' lair in the Starfall Isles to the Hewn City to deliver a top-secret, award-wining chili recipe. With pride in his chest and a tightly sealed scroll in his hands, Vesryn took off for the Sunbeam Ruins.

It took him all of ten minutes for him to loose the fight against curiosity as he tore open the scroll. His eyes hungrily searched for the secret ingredient - there, [REDACTED]! He waited eagerly for the forbidden information to fill him with raw, uncontrollable power. Disappointed and realizing this was nothing more than a plain old boring recipe, he crumpled the paper back into the scroll tube and continued on his journey.

His debut trip as Arcane Ambassador was subsequently sidetracked by shiny pebble expeditions, sessions spent staring at his own reflection, and hours-long midday naps. Soon, his initial mission was a long-forgotten memory at the back of his mind.

. . .

By complete chance, he ended up arriving at the Hewn City several months later. The top-secret chili recipe was now completely illegible, having been used as a tablecloth for several of Vesyrn's indulgent, sauce-ladden meals. After announcing his regal presence to the first dragon he ran into, he was regretfully informed that Kampi had already brought back a copy of the recipe a few weeks prior. Dejected, Vesyrn threw the busted scroll case into a nearby puddle and left to chart his way back to the Starfall Isles.

As he wandered around looking for anyone resembling a traveler, he overheard a familiar name - Cay! The dragon who had given him this assignment! Yes, he still had his honor to return to! Swooping over to the Guardian who had just mentioned the name, he eagerly asked for more news of the clan that surely missed him. The brown dragon blinked slowly at him, eyes suddenly widening in recognition. "Vesyrn? Cay was certain you had given up months ago! They were incredibly stressed that they couldn't find you in time for the move." The Veilspun practically deflated before picking up on the last sentence. "... Wait, a move?" The guardian shifted uncomfortably. "Erm, yes! The clan now resides in the Parched Canyonwalks..."

The Parched Canyonwalks?? In Dragonhome???? Vesyrn dramatically flopped to the ground. There was no more Arcane clan to even need an Arcane Ambassador! The guardian towering above him watched him flop around on the ground miserably. "Look, it's really okay! As this clan's Earth Ambassador, it would be my duty to guide you back." Vesryn stopped his wailing to look back at the Guardian. "And now they've replaced me!" The bewildered Guardian simply shook her head and left him to mope.

Eventually, Vesyrn peeled himself off the ground and sheepishly apologized to Rosalie. She reassured him that he had nothing to apologize for and offered to show him around the lair. Ever since, the two have been inseparable - mostly because Vesyrn insists on his authority as Senior Ambassador. He's now a permanent part of Rosalie's shadow, doing his best to help in his own way.
