Permafrost has an unhealthy obsession with bones. He spends all his time in the dirt, digging them up, cataloging and analyzing them. His corner of the lair is filled to the brim with the stuff, it's a miracle there's space for both him and his mate there. Some of them, he wears, claiming he is able to harness the strengths of those they belonged to. He prefers storing his favorites in a large block of ice, where their beauty can be adored without the possibility of breaking them. Many approach him with remains, hoping to find out who and what they came from, but more often than not he ends up claiming them for himself. | space text |

Permafrost came from an allied clan in the land of the Arcanist. Being found as an abandoned egg while the clan lacked the space for newcomers, it was decided he was to be given away. As the first Nocturne of the clan, he was met with excitement, the entire clan helped raise him. Because of this, he was blessed with many possibilities in the future; he could become a shaman, a messenger, a smith, even a leader if he chose to go that route. Instead, he chose to gradually isolate himself; he became grumpier when around other dragons, and began following his true passion; finding and collecting bones. He hasn't been able to define exactly why remains excite him so, but at this rate none of the clan members are ever welcome enough to ask.
Permafrost salvages everything he finds, not only bones. He takes metal scraps, ore, wood, and everything else he may find with him to the clan. Here, he trades or sells them with fellow clanmembers or travelling dragons. Because of his perfectionism and care, he is able to salvage the trickiest of materials, and although they dread it, dragons sometimes come to him for his help. Even his mate sparked his interest because of her fascination with the same subject. As one of the clan's warriors, she often brought bones and other artifacts taken from her opponents and prey. She would make the most beautiful wind chimes out of them, hanging them all around her cave. Permafrost, smitten, would sneak his most prized bones into her chambers, waiting patiently for her return. They, as well, would be crafted into her famous wind chimes, and the two dragons bonded by exchanging materials and products. |
