A bunch of corporate bigwigs had a party in the Kaiator Library. It got way wilder than a party in a library should get, but they were paying well for the privilege.
Afterwards, Varcolac closed up shop for the day and was heading home, picking his way between pizza boxes and broken bottle glass, when he spied a dragon egg. Two eggs, actually, dumped atop plates of half-eaten sushi and crushed cans. The eggs were still warm.
Heck of a party.
Varcolac tried surrendering the eggs to library staff, but was told that incubating abandoned eggs was above their pay grade. Nothing to do but for Varcolac to bring them home and incubate them himself. That's how he became adoptive father to Cooper, a pearlcatcher, and Velizaren, an obelisk.

In the dream, the forums were *exploding* about the name, ppl setting up auctions for dragons named Cooper, and the only dragon on the AH named Cooper was on there for 72kg??? Only that specific name.. odd. And then one of the Roundsey dragons was automatically named Cooper.
