Eleven years ago the Deities Awoke and beheld the state of the world: Threatened by Shadow, with several breeds outright missing and others who had had the genes in their blood sealed. They cast out their power and reworked reality, calling spirits from another world to guard and oversee each lair, speeding the growth of hatchlings so that they may learn to defend themselves more quickly if needed, and various other things, such as entrusting the Beastclans with the responsibility of testing the Dragon clans' fighting prowess.

Since then there have been three days that blur the lines of reality, days that should not exist, but do. February only has 28 days, everyone knows this, though they do not know why. Yet every four years there is an extra.

Some say that it is a day that does not actually exist in Sornieth, that it is a rip in the fabric of time that leaks over from the world the Guardian Spirits hail from. Others say it is merely an excuse for a holiday. Some even claim that the day is just a joke made after someone at the calendar factory screwed up!
