Biography
Chosen Mate: None
Good Point: Fun to talk to
Bad Point: Impulsive
Role: Wraith
Necromantic Symbol(s): Bones
General Job: Mayu's metaphorical eyes and ears; Cinnabar listens for others concerns and passes them up to Mayu.
Cinnabar's birthplace might've been within Earthshaker's territory, but his spirit was wholly with Plaguebringer for as long as he could remember. To serve as an oracle or shaman of Mother was something he dreamed of. It was what took him to the trials of the necromancers, and pushed him to attempt them. He was eager to speak to the necromancers and necroservi that watched at Rotrock Rim, to hear their thoughts about his potential and gain some advice. Most didn't bother with him, but one told him that if he sat closer to the edge, infection tended to come faster - but the cost was that it was harder to pass the second trial if this was done. Grateful for this advice, he gave his thanks and proceeded onward.
Despite the associated risks, Cinnabar had chosen a perch closer to the Wyrmwound than most. He knew it could be seen as reckless, but he was confident he was strong enough for this. He was young, he was dedicated to Plaguebringer, and he came into this in good health. He had a fighting chance.
True to what was said of his perch of choice, infection came fast. However, it also came quite strong. The illness was particularly hard for him to fight off, and quickly began taking its toll on him. As time passed, he did his utmost to best it, refusing to succomb. But the longer things went on, the less likely success looked and the more his body began to falter.
The necromancer from before, who had noticed his spirit and gave him advice, was watching. She liked the energy of this dragon, the desire he had to serve Plaguebringer reminded her much of herself. And so, rather than let him die there, the necromancer intervened.
At some point while trying not to fall, Cinnabar had blacked out. When he came to, he found that Mayu - the necromancer he'd spoken with - was curing him of the infection. Though he had no power, and he couldn't be a proper oracle, Cinnabar still wanted to return the favor to Mayu any way he could. The solution ended up being to serve among her entourage, where he could be the one to hear concerns and bring them to her, to speak with others and bring her information. Though he wouldn't be able to truly read Mother's wishes like true oracles, he could at least assist one by informing her of things to look into or when others needed her.
Cinnabar is a social dragon, enjoying talking to others. He sees each new interaction as a new opportunity to learn things, and values each and every individual he forges a bond with. He isn't very aggressive at all, but has no problems with fighting if it comes down to it. However, he has an impulsive side that can lead to him taking unnecessary risks as he gets too excited to think things through. Cinnabar is an overall lively individual that makes for great conversation - something he uses to help Mayu, as his chats with others can let him gather information for her.
Though very social, he's not one for loud, wild parties and prefers quieter, more down-to-earth events. Cinnabar is also a good cook, capable of cooking any meats to perfection. He's fond of making meals for himself and the entourage, and gets along well with Woodblight's clan cook Tropico.
