Lake is a manipulative dragon, always under the guise of slow and graceful motions to earn what sway she can with those around her. Though she's larger than most dragons in the clan, she has no need for physical prowess to get what she wants--she much prefers subtler methods, attempting to play the weaknesses of those around her. When Lake was still a new addition to the clan, she latched to the other guardian, Bath, whose careful and avoidant nature made him endearing in many ways. She finds a refreshing warmth in him, though it took a long time for him to admit he was infatuated.

Lake was adopted by a lone Pearlcatcher when she was just a hatchling. The adoptive mother thought herself a saint for taking care of the young one, despite their differences. In fact, she took great pride in dangling that fact over Lake when they got into disagreements, which happened rather frequently. Lake was still small, without much sway, but learned quickly to match her mother's guilt tactics and go behind her back when necessary. By the time she grew larger than her mother, it was practically second nature to argue without arguing
