Biography

Clan role: Co-leader and co-founder
Mate: Petrel

Personality: loyal, carefree, adventurous

Story:

Icarus was always looking for a thrill, and always loved doing flying stunts and exploring the sourunding area. He was also always trying new things, they didn't always go quite as planned though. The other dragons of his old clan said he was always getting into trouble and said he attics would likely catch up with him one day. He didn't mind them though. He didn't really care about what other dragons thought of him anyway, that is, until he met a fellow fae dragon named Petrel.
She was optimistic about the future and didn't seem to mind the things he did that bothered other dragons so much. She shared her plans about starting her own clan some day. He hoped she would succeed. Over time they bonded with each other. Icarus hoped that their close friendship would turn into something more eventually.
Because of this he made his exploring trips shorter than he used to so he would be back sooner to see her. One trip didn't go quite to plan though. He was flying over an island which he had previously thought was uninhabited. Odd dome structures were being constructed on it by a group of dragons. Icarus landed and asked the dragons what they were doing. They said they were building a research lab, which seemed innocent enough.
So he offered to him them build it. When he was about to leave a stocky Guardian stopped him and told Icarus that he had seen too much and that he must stay until the project was finished. Icarus thought that was reasonable enough. Although part of him felt he might be putting himself in danger for doing so, there was also something thrilling about the idea of taking the risk of staying. So he did.
He stayed until the construction was completed. By the time it was fully built there were many more dragons patrolling the area. They gave him intimidating looks whenever he was trying to leave. ( Or maybe they were just being polite, how would he know the difference? ) It was when they brought the first test subjects in that Icarus had his first real thoughts of leaving. He hadn't been anticipating that they would be doing experiments on live dragon test subjects.
The dragons that he now knew were part of a group that called themselves OEE( the Organization of Elemental Experimentation ) insisted that these experiments were essential for the survival of dragon kind. Icarus had his doubts though. The test subjects ranged in age from old dragons to unhatched eggs. The eggs were preserved in a way that kept them alive but didn't allow them to hatch. And the adults and hatchlings were kept in holding rooms that Icarus was pretty sure stayed locked most of the the time.
He thought those areas were going to be used for food storage or something when they built it, so he was rather dismayed by their actual purpose. Icarus himself was tasked with cleaning the labs and holding areas. He was about ready to craft an escape plan, but his plans changed when he was tasked with cleaning the egg holding area one day. He overheard two of the scientists talking amongst themselves about how one the eggs was defective and how it was useless for them to keep it.
Horrified at the idea of what they might do to it, he decided to act quickly and put on an act of sorts where he told the scientists he would deal with the egg and they wouldn't have to worry about it. They seemed satisfied with this reaction and let him take the egg. He left it in the holding container and hid it under his sleeping area. Each night he would curl up around the box the egg was in and tried to contemplate how he would escape with an entire egg. He would talk to the egg too, and named the little dragon inside Lucky.
He wanted to return to his clan and Petrel, but couldn't. He felt just as trapped as the dragons that were actually trapped there. It seemed he had finally flew too close to the sun. Before he could come up with a plan to escape with Lucky and the other captives they were broken out by an unfamiliar clan of dragons, Petrel, and her new friend Loko. Icarus turned himself in and let them arrest him. He knew how it must look. He told them about Lucky and they took the little egg with the other eggs.
There was finally a trial and the judge let him go because he story lined up with Petrel's. She had apparently been looking for him the whole time. After a few months of hanging out, talking, and making up for lost time they finally became mates. Their old clan was suspicious of him when they heard the news so he decided to help Petrel fulfill her dream of starting a clan along with her new friend Loko who became the third member of their clan.
Icarus inquired about Lucky in a letter, but never got an answer back, he had to assume the egg was safe. As time went by he and Petrel eventually had their own hatchlings and other dragons joined their clan until it became what it is today.
