Original lair

Liar under oath, speaker of untruths. Cursed captain.

A pirate captain and former oracle who got cursed as she lied under a bloodoath to protect her friend.

Since then, she's doomed to dwell in the forgotten realms, which are the unmapped corners of the world where lairs lay dead, yet alive and all stagnates.

As the vow is sworn to the sun, moon and stars, it weakens when none of their light touch the land. To ward off the shade, she visits the living during thunderstorms, bringing treasures of the forgotten realms, and lost dragons trapped in a waking dreams, whose spirits may yet be found.

The shade exists throughout sorneith and accumulates in unloved and unseen corners, creeping up and often warded off by as much as a prayer or a gathering. This is why banishment is such a harsh punishment and why forgotten lairs sometimes don't feel alive...
