Biography

twtltrtd

>18 child?
70-90 subadult
100 very young adult (human ref: 18-19)
200-300 adult (human ref: 20s-30s)
400 mature adult (human ref: 40s-50s)
400+ senior (human ref: 60s+)
500+ elder (human ref: 70s+)

parenthood often takes place at the late 200s to mid 300s; parents in their early 200s or younger are viewed the same way you'd react to meeting a 19 year old with 3 kids and a mortgage

children tend to stay with their parents and/or birth clan til the 100s on avg, but 70 at the lower end of the scale
mental maturity tends to occur by the 200s

dragons in their 100s aren't fully mentally mature yet and are still physically immature to varying degrees. over the next 100-200 years, they'll continue to grow and even out; their ears becoming proportional to their bodies, "baby fat" trimming out, getting taller, etc.
they're still prone to impulsive tendencies and overestimating their skills. they're also don't quite have a good handle on their emotions yet, leading to more rash decisions and the like. [...]

depending on the breed, dragons typically finish growing anywhere from their mid 200s to early 300s; it's rare for growing to end before the former or continue after the latter. it's been documented that some dragons experience a seemingly random growth spurt sometime in their early 400s.

this is still a wip while I work out some kinks, but here's a general guideline!

the line between adult and subadult/younger is blurry. I added in human age refs to give the readers a better idea of their ages, but they Are still dragons, so they also abide by animal age logic. I'm not sure how to convey that well at the moment.
for now, a subadult is it's own thing separate from child, teen, and adult.
haven't figured out what below 70 is yet lmao

extremely extremely extremely tentative which is why it's at the very bottom of this bio. extremely subject to change
