The clan guard had been out training, when a hoarfrost mauler refused to drop. It stumbled and lurched and roared and gnashed its teeth at the team.
That was when Vinesca saw it.
A discolored patch of snow-more pink than white. What she thought were rocks were dark wings tucked tightly against the small body.
"Shank! Shank we have to stop!"

I grew up strong. Healthy. And unlike anyone from that horrid place-happy. I don't know what my birth-clan was like. I don't remember.
Shank tells me that's a good thing. DeepWater just tells me it was horrible, and no place for even the worst dragons. Vinesca glares when I mention it... And they're the only ones who have seen it.

My hoarfrost mauler, Fluffy (shut up, I was such a creative hatchling), had apparently found me in the snow and protected me. The guards nearly killed her, and once discovering me, rushed us both here. To home.

They can't stop me from learning. I ventured to the marketplace, the auction house, wandered around the ice fields while gathering supplies. I've learned.

My parents both had the suffix added to their name of "-thel", so I shall be Thelpast. I will honor them, and my past.

I decided to wander to market again. Svana had some things she wanted to buy, anyway... I don't think she knows why I want to go so often. Maybe she thinks that I'm a shopaholic. Or that I'm just searching for something perfect for Dream.
Oh gosh, Dream. She came into the clan and it was like all of my dreams manifested into this beautiful frozen-furred tundra. She really is a dream.
I mean, just the other day-What.

What was that. That. Right there. That scent is familiar. I can't quite place it...

There! A glimpse of rose fur like mine. Wait, where'd it go?
