Biography
Leafclan started small and scrappy--so small, in fact, that it was just Stormclaw and Fernfoot. Stormclaw's decision to take Fernfoot as not just her mate, but her charge, angered their previous clanmates, so the two left to begin a new life. Looking to put some distance between their former home, they found themselves in the Gladevines on the outskirts of the Viridian Labyrinth. The two struggled for several months, even losing several of their hatchlings to either predators or the rushing waters, pushing them on the brink of giving up and returning home.
However, right when they were considering their attempt a failure, help arrived in the form of Miraalo, a serene Skydancer, and Winterberry, an energetic Spiral. The pair had been attempting to travel to the ocean and encountered Stormclaw and Fernfoot on their way, quickly striking up a bond. Stormclaw admired Winterberry's relentless tenacity and Miraalo's peaceful demeanor, offering them a place in the clan if they chose to stay. While Miraalo agreed right away, Winterberry required the promise of a place as second-in-command and Stormclaw, amused by his cunning, agreed.
Their numbers later increased with the addition of Bluefur, a fierce Wildclaw hoping to find strength within a clan, and his mate (at the time), Coffeecream. The pair stayed in the clan even after separating, later finding other members in the form of Angelwing and Galleonwing, a Nocturne and Pearlcatcher. Galleonwing brought with him his son, Silverkeeper, who quickly formed a strong warrior trio with Coffeecream and Eurufeather, a Coatl. Stormclaw, seeing how the ranks were swelling, devised a system of having older, more established dragons train the younger, inexperienced dragons, leaving the duty of assigning apprentices to Winterberry (who went on to choose Silverkeeper as his apprentice and the first apprentice.)
With the clan growing stronger, Stormclaw and Fernfoot were able to welcome their own new hatchlings in Frecklewing and Jokerjaws, a Guardian and Ridgeback, each taking their own under their wing as their apprentice. With more and more dragons, Stormclaw fought hard for the clan to stay true to her original vision as an accepting home for all. She believes that this is best achieved with strong wings and sharp claws that are able to stand up against adversity--she can never forget the hatchlings lost due to not being able to protect them.
Still, not every new addition is necessarily a boon to the clan. There are those within the ranks that do not add to the clan, and may have their own plans in direct contrast with Stormclaw's vision. It is yet to be seen if these plans will pan out, but there are watchful eyes everywhere...
