The light of a new day was just beyond the horizon, the sky a deep shade of blue. A pair of drakes meet, as they only ever do when the sun and moon sit in the same sky, hovering around a nest. They could feel spirits wandering about them, ever curious as they peered at a pair of creatures settled in a bed of pillows and silk. The pair cooed at their little ones, fawning over the beauty that came from that brief moment between day and night.
It was in the light of twilight the pair hatched, forever torn between dawn and dusk as the winds of change called to them. The hatchlings cooed back at their parents, wondering about the ever shifting beings peering at them from the sidelines. They knew the souls watching over them would follow them for the rest of their days, encouraging them to follow whatever their minds can dream up. Even if they'd leave their parents behind, they'll always find support in the power of the twilight hour.
