 Tyresia was training to be a wizard, once. She was a skilled diviner, her teachers say, before she became so obsessed with capnomancy. Why should I care about the future, she thought, if the world will all be ash one day? Her professors lost patience with her eventually, and she was asked to leave the arcane university.

 She didn't "happen" upon the temple. She sought it out quite purposefully. She spends much of her time these days refurbishing the ancient, mold-filled library and filling it with relevant texts. She gets along fine with the other members of the temple, except Bacchus, who she loathes for no discernible reason. In the opaque smog of night, she takes a candle and walks the halls, studying the writings and carvings on the stone walls rapturously. Every day her notes become more and more illegible.
