Gold Ore
Infectionist's Crown
From a very early age, Belteshazzar and the other Nocturnes of his colony were taught of their breed's supremacy to all others, to keep secrets and only breed with those of the same social ranking. Their leaders were known simply as King and Queen, for it was believed whosoever held the position was required to give up their birth name to adopt their new purpose, to break off ties to their previous lives, and, by extension, selves. These two dragons, as fate would have it, were Belteshazzar's parents, and as such they put immense amounts of pressure on him to obey their culture and norms. Eager to please them, the young dragon quickly mastered mimicking their entitled, high and mighty attitudes, much to the annoyance of the others. With their prodding, he took the rather pretty Shikali to be his mate. She accepted, though more so from the forceful pushing of her mother than anything else, who was hungry for the elevated status that the pairing would bring. At a glance Belteshazzar's love for Shikali seems to be no more than youthful infatuation, but he tries hard to please her in his foolishly endearing sort of way, with pet names like "my jewel.” He is by all means still very young, and has a lot to learn before he'll truly grow and mature as a young dragon.

For reasons unknown to their adopted clanmates, both Belteshazzar and Shikali fled their old society, and have created their own home in the Clan of the Flowering Glen. Shikali has stayed with him, though if this loyalty is to him, their traditions, or to their parents is anyone's guess.
