Growing up in the Arcane flight, Athene and her siblings grew up among books and magic. But Athene never took to books like her siblings, and was often neglected because of her disinterest. Instead, she always had her sights on the old Plague warrior that often travelled within her homeland and stayed for extended periods of time. She pestered him to teach her to fight. In his exasperation, he did.

She followed him all the way home into the Plague lands and never left. She became an unmatched warrior, felling whoever went up against her. She used her small and unassuming build to her advantage and became a deadly hand for the Plaguebringer.
