Biography

Glassbound Solarvul
The glassblowing guild isn’t the largest of the guilds in the clan, but nevertheless, Ceru is proud to be a part of it. As a young orphan, one of the artisan masters of the guild took a liking to him, and Ceru started training as an aspiring glassblower, giving him a future outside of the orphanage. And while the artisan never truly adopted him, Ceru considers the old dragon his family, and the guild his brotherhood.

So it’s incredibly rough for him when the clan leader starts cutting costs suddenly. The clan isn’t racking up debt, and the guilds that aren’t generating enough profits are given an ultimatum. Either come up with a product that will surely make bank, or be culled. Ceru watches the guild struggle to come up with an idea, they try and try, but there’s nothing spectacular that a glassblowing guild can make. They make art, and art is subjective. Eventually, when half of the guild members are ready to just give up, Ceru’s old mentor looks him dead in the eye and says: “My boy, you have always been a crafty one. Do you think you can work something out for us?” Ceru is honestly not sure, and he hates lying to his family, but he does it anyway. “I’ll find something before the deadline, I promise.”

With that promise weighing heavily on his mind, Ceru decides to meet with one of the other orphans that he grew up with. A scrawny dragon, who became a mage. He tells his old friend about the guild’s struggles over a shared meal. “Maybe I can help!”, his friend says. “I’ve been working on a spell that animates inanimate objects. It only works on objects that look like animals, but if you can blow me a glass animal, I can make it move!”

The next day, the two of them are in the guild’s workshop, working on a glass animal.
