Coin

Coin has always been lucky. Finding expensive treasures, solving puzzles by chance, winning wagers… But most importantly, winning games! Coin loves games, any and all games, but most importantly, games where she can win a prize. Her clan mates know not to challenge Coin to agame, but luckily, the many travelers that temporarily enter the clan don’t know. So Coin is always found in the tavern, playing games with whatever traveler is competitive enough. And, because of her luck, when she beats one traveler, the other ones come flocking in to show her that she can’t be that lucky.

Of course, she wins every single round of whatever game they’re playing that night.

Coin has actually made decent amounts of treasure from this endeavor. So much so, that she doesn’t even need to work. She still does little things in and around the clan, helping out whenever someone needs her help, but Coin prefers to spend her time playing games with travelers. The tavern keeper prefers her in the tavern too, as stories of her insane luck streak have been spreading, and the tavern is livelier than ever.

Of course, that kind of fame and fortune comes with a prize.

Because on one fateful night, a strange traveler sits down across Coin. His eyes obscured by an overly large hat, but Coin could still see the boldness in his body language. He pulls out a set of dice and puts them on the table. “Want to play a game, fair lady?”, he asks, voice silky smooth and dark as the night. Coin, of course, says yes. And she wins, but only by a little. The traveler smiles at her, and packs up his dice again. “I never lost before, we should do this again sometime.”, he says to Coin, before getting up and leaving.

Coin watches him go, entranced by the idea of playing with the mysterious stranger again.
