Poppy

Poppy loves the sun. She enjoys being outside in the sunlight more than anything else, and really, really dislikes being inside for long amounts of time. So studying never was her thing, as her teacher didn’t allow her to study outside. “It would ruin the books!”, he would always say. But where Poppy wasn’t academically gifted, she was incredibly talented in other skills. Like, finding fresh drinking water, knowing which plants are edible, or spotting valuable rocks in between the regular pebbles. Sadly, those very helpful skills weren’t at all appreciated in her birth clan, so Poppy decided to leave.

During her travels, Poppy learns to appreciate the sun even more. The way the light falls through the leaves of the trees is beautiful. The colors of the sky that completely change depending on where the sun is at that moment are magical. Poppy really, really likes traveling. So much so, that when she finally finds a clan to settle down in, it takes her a while to actually settle. Her neighbors are great, and the clan appreciates her skills. Her lair is comfortable and even the weather is amazing.

But even so, Poppy doesn’t feel like she’s where she needs to be.

Poppy needs to chase the sun. She can feel it in the back of her mind, like a constant itch she cannot scratch. This clan is not the place for her. There might be a place where she fits, but this is not it. And she can either settle with this itch… Or she can chase it.

And over the course of a couple of months, Poppy gradually gets everything in order to get back on the road. She needs to travel, she can feel it in her bones. Her neighbors are sad to see her go, but are understanding.
