Biography

Lunulae the Librarian
nature_banner.png

Lunulae lives and works at the Redwood Library. She's a Viridian Labyrinth native, but has spent much of her time in the Sunbeam Ruins. She left behind some of her grown, unexalted hatchlings, but felt it was necessary for her to move on.

She and her former mate had not been together for a long time; their relationship predates the Clan of Fallen Leaves, and even her last hatchling with Tholannan, named Brightstone (who was exalted unto the Gladekeeper) was born not too long after the clan's inception. She and Tholannan stopped being mates fairly quickly after that last nest.

Intact Parchment

Lunulae has a big interest in books and history, thus her allocation to the library was well-suited. She's not the only Wildclaw in residence of the Redwood: Cenobia Pendergrass, the blind Priestess of Light, also has a chamber, when not at the Eleven Priestesses' temple near the Behemoth. Many visitors to the Redwood can seem to find Lunulae by the swishing of her voluminous skirts and petticoats through the massive shelves that were grown and shaped with the Gladekeeper's magic.

Lunulae was asked to stand in as the Nature Priestess by the Plague Priestess Amaris until the arrival of the Primal Priestess of Nature, as prophesized by the Water Priestess Glitter. Lunulae-- according to Amaris --would be "an adequate stand-in." Stargazer, a primal-eyed Nature Pearlcatcher, has been badgered by Amaris to be magically changed into a Wildclaw and thus fulfill the prophecy, but Stargazer has refused. She had said "perhaps the Primal you seek will be of my blood, but it is not me." The curious thing about this, is that she has a brother who is Primal-Eyed, so any more siblings born to their parents may very well be the Primal seeked.

Notes on how the Clan reacts to strange eye types (needs to be reworked):
  • Glowing is just an expression of their magic, it doesn't make them any more powerful or anything. Particularly powerful dragons do tend to have them, but it's not a requirement.

Others can be put off by the glowing, though; some find it creepy.
  • Primal, however, IS an expression of just how powerful a dragon is. They can wield the element much better than others of their flight. It's like a visual mutation showing just how strong that dragon is, whether physically or magically. Primals are considered blessed by the deity they hatched under.

Some Primals are more off-putting than others, but right now no one in the lair has an OOF primal, so it's a non-issue inside the clan boundaries.

  • Multigaze is just a physical mutation, really, I don't have it as anything specific at the moment. Doesn't hurt the dragon, isn't actually particularly useful, and is a little off-putting to some, but generally accepted.

  • Goat eyes are also a physical mutation. No special powers. Although, some animals might like the dragon more.

Goat eyes are generally accepted, but again, some find it off-putting, or that it's an expression of an internal evil (that's rare, though.)

  • Faceted eyes are blind eyes. They'd go through whatever a blind dragon would go through. I probably have some dragons that look down upon or pity my facet eyed ones, but most wouldn't be malicious about it, they aren't gonna freak out like they might with other eye types.

  • Dark Sclera dragons are generally connected to the darker side of things, considered shifty and unreliable, or even evil. That's not always the case, though.

  • Innocent eyes are just really pretty eyes, nothing particularly special otherwise. (Although, maybe it makes a dragon's night vision better, like spirals. their large eyes are supposed to be good for night vision according to site lore)

  • Swirl eyes are probably a magic-related physical expression. Just looks neat. Some probably find it weird, but generally harmless.
