Alala (Αλαλα) was the Ancient Greek daimona (personified spirit) of the war-cry. Pindar, in his Dithyrambs Fragment 78 says the following on Alala: "Harken! O Alala (War-Shout), daughter of Polemos (War)! Prelude of spears! To whom soldiers are sacrificed for their city's sake in the holy sacrifice of death."
