"STOP EATING MY LIBRARY!"

The group of baby Aether scattered, leaving behind the shreds of the books they'd been eating.

"We need to get a handle on this," the Arcanist told Lenore and Lyra. They nodded in agreement.

"The influx of Aether is proving problematic, and the book copiers are having trouble keeping up with replacing everything that's being taken from the Second Copy Library to the First when something gets eaten, in addition to creating the Third Copy Library," Lyra shared. "I think we need a new format for storing information, one that isn't edible."

"I checked recently and no one has devised a suitable alternative book material yet," Lenore said. "Though I did get a few of them back on track researching it."

"What about something not physical?" piped up Mina, recently graduated from being Grace and Rose's apprentice.

"Storing information as sound or images in a rune?" Lenore wondered.

"More physical than that," Mina said, then hesitated a moment. "Back home," the Lightning dragon continued, "we used electrical current in many ways. A small amount of information could be stored for how to have systems handle problems before engineers arrived, for example. The potential to store large amounts of information could be there."

"Interesting," the Arcanist intoned. "Have your free scientists and Lightning dragons have a brainstorming session on the idea."

There were, unfortunately, not many free scientists, but all the Lightning scientists were pulled away from their current experiments to discuss the idea of an electric library. As such it was a small group, Lightning dragons not being overly numerous in the clan, but the conversation was lively as the discussion progressed.
