Tetanu came to the clan as an orphan, found by Pelagiya near death in the sandy wastes. She had hatched alone and could have easily died in the infectious desert. Exposed to a number of different pathogens, she spent a lot of time with clan healers, nursing her back to health. She was never fully healed. Different growths began to calcify her body and protrude from scales and even from bones.

She has spent her years working as a healer and investigator, discovering new plagues and diseases that tend to pop up in the clan's native homeland. She works hard to develop cures or medications to fight against them.

A recent visit to the Ashfall Wastes with her assistant Andoragh to consult with Shamans has led her developing a cure for her own bony growths, eliminating them and any further growths entirely. Whatever the cure, it leaves its mark on her body. Ethereal flames lick and hop about, the fiery show lending to the name Fire Whirl.
