HISTORY.
Lustre, a pondside nymph who calls beds of aquatic weeds home. She speaks in many tongues, communicating with dragons and monsters alike - and to the forest's cerdae, she is friend, not foe.

Born into the forest, Lustre had been aware of the only unspoken rule since birth: a certain wanderer, under no circumstance, could not be let escape. She'd pointed the slumbering pearlcatcher out to the cerdae, leading to his series of misfortunes. Praises and compliments for protecting their home she had received, yet Lustre began to feel guilt for what she had contributed to. She acted only upon her companions' words, unknowing of why they desperately wanted to keep him... Yet the cerdae spoke not, only responding to her inquiries with a nuzzle. But perhaps, if he had left... Maybe he'd have a home to return to, and sport an appearance much less disheveled than his current one.

And so the nymph tucks the unconscious Vab in with the largest lilypad she can find and picks away at the mess covering his scales every so often - maybe, her tiny deeds of goodwill would make her feel more at ease.
