Xeroioa

After slithering and flapping and climbing across the landscapes of the Windswept Plateau, the auraboa makes it to the wondrous floating platforms at last. Other partygoers make note of her appearance as she moves through the crowds.
"Is that Xeroioa?"
"I heard she hasn't played for the Mistral Jamboree in a while..."
"Someone told me that she was sent to explore Sornieth as a Representative of the Wind flight!"
"I attended one of her performances a few years ago!"
"What does she play again? Was it the lute or the lyre?"

A few younglings race up to her as she buys a drink at a stand. As they approach, they lose some of their confidence and hang back, staring at the auraboa in front of them.

She's much taller than any of them. Her scales shine a brilliant green, the same color of the mists that float around the Aergate, and shiny brown and orange plumage adorns her wings and head. She wears elaborate jewelry and a green silk kimono, and an intricately carved lute rests at her side. Feeling the eyes on her, she turns, primal eyes flowing more green mist into the air.

"Hello there, little ones," Xeroioa says, smiling warmly at them as she sips her refreshment. "Is there something you need?"
A Spiral hatchling moves to the front of the group, fluttering her wings excitedly as she responds. "I heard you're a super good musician! Are you going to play for the Cloudsong Celebration this year? Can I see?"
A Skydancer moves to the front as well, eyes bright as he spots the instrument attached to Xeroioa's side. "Your lute is so pretty! I wish I knew how to play the lute." He pouts.
Xeroioa chuckles good-naturedly.
"I love the enthusiasm, my dears! I am indeed a musician and I am here to play this year. Come, you and your friends can join me as I set up to play!" She winks at the Skydancer. "If you behave, I might even teach you a few chords!" The performance goes just as planned, and Xeroioa is glad to catch up with the other musicians as she returns backstage. As she exits, she looks around, a warm feeling spreading within her as she basks in the joy of the events all around her, from the concerts still filling the air with beautiful tunes, to the sizzling of local delicacies heard from the vendor stalls, and the balloons, pinwheels, and firecrackers galore as hatchlings and their guardians wander through the platforms. She smiles fondly, glad to be together again with her Flight. Home at last.
