Everyone's partly convinced that Kili just turned up with her one day. It's like they turned around and she was just there. In truth, Dis' paid for her services during a sparse season and she ended staying. Possibly just to keep Kili out of trouble. Somehow, during her short stay, she ended up in love with the brat. Aredhel hopes that her calming influence will level the boy out but Dis knows better. As serious and dedicated as Tauriel is, Kili's doing more to bring her out of her shell than she is to calm him down.

Despite her security in the clan and her love of Kili, she does find herself missing some of the aspects of her old clan life. As one of the few within the clan dedicated to her religion (Nar and Thranduil might be the only other two with the same degree of faith) she misses the formality and comfort of having religious leaders within the clan and finds the lack of religious structure offputting.
