Reyes enjoys making quilts - every clan he goes to, he'll make a quilt out of some scraps of fabric and give it as a gift. He wonders what he can create during his journey.

His first stop was the Oculus Clan in the Arcane flight, where Reyes happily tagged along on some gathering trips. The clan also encountered some merchants who were happy to trade goods, and Reyes ended up with some beautiful cotton and linen fabrics in celestial patterns. He crafted a quilt with a space motif that looked a little like this!

Reyes found himself within the Forgotten Kingdom next. They weren't used to seeing Aethers up close, but he didn't mind. He looked around, before he learned of the Mysterious Wreckage on the outskirts of the kingdom. Out of curiosity, he went out to investigate. He instantly recognized the wrecked ships to be those of the Emerald Winged Moths, a special group of Aethers whose ships were said to have flown the farthest. He had never learned of what happened to them, and it seemed like their numbers were small as they were still uncovering survivors. He decided to help them out a little, gathering supplies and food for them. While looking through one of the ruined ships, he came across some green fabrics, which they gave to him as thanks for helping them. However, instead of taking all of it like they expected him to, he used some of the various green fabrics along with some white fabric he had on hand to make a quilt.

The challenge of primarily using green tones was a fun one, and he gifted the quilt to the clan as a sort of tribute to the Emerald Winged Moths. They were hesitant to accept, but he assured them it was alright. Besides, if he simply took the fabric scraps from every clan with him and kept every quilt he made, he'd surely be too weighed down to even move! They accepted his quilt with great gratitude and bid him farewell, wishing him luck on his future journeys.

Reyes did not stay long in Dragonhome, you could say he had a detour. Whilst flying he found himself lost in a sudden and blinding sand-storm, and when he woke, the entire desert looked like it was made of liquid gold. It became almost completely flat, with no markings or landmarks. He attempted to walk, leaving footprints behind. But when he turned around, his own footprints disappeared. The longer he wandered, the redder the sky became. The longer he wandered, the drier his mouth became.

...

He woke up to the smell of tea,

"Oh good, you're awake. A friend of mine found you caught in one of the pockets of the Hazeworld. You must be new around here. Usually people are aware of it... Those blasted storms..." A masked snapper, Wairen, hummed thoughtfully, whilst leaving a cup of tea by his bedside.

"Consider your first night in this Inn, free, but I expect you to either have some form of payment if you continue to stay. It'll be 10,000t a night."

"Payment?" Reyes searched his pockets when she asked, but she placed a gentle hand on his shoulder,

"Make sure you rest up... I notice you make quilts...?" She must've been talking about his sewing kit. "I'm always up for alternative methods of payment, so don't hurry."

With that, she left him to his own devices.

Later, Reyes decided to go for a night walk. He stumbled upon a shifty-eyed spiral. It was a cold night, so he tossed one of his work-in-progress blankets over the other's shoulders.

"Did you just arrive here too?" The spiral jumped at his question, scrambling to close up his bags-
"Y-yup, just recounting my wares before I book a room."

"Think if we get a room together, we'll get a discount?" Something in Reyes told him that perhaps he may need to keep a close eye on this dragon for a little while.

He looked like he needed help.

Before the two left the Inn, Reyes offered a simple quilt, made from extra fabric Wairen herself had lying around.

  • After a long voyage along the seaside (and multiple failed sales attempts), the pair arrived at the Starfall Isles.
  • Unfortunately for them, they had gotten positively lost in the Starwood Strand.
  • "What kind of madman would make a road that circles back to itself?!" Maitho would complain, as Reyes hung another piece of thread to mark their path.
  • After a long two days of wandering aimlessly among the wooded maze, the duo stumbled into a hunting squad, comprising of two Auraboa and a Mirror.
  • After a long, uncomfortable silence, Maitho was the first to speak.
  • "...hhhHELLO VERY NOT SUSPICIOUS STRANGERS! WOULD YOU BE INTERESTED IN THE DEAL OF A LIFETIME?" he bellowed, shrinking away from the smaller Auraboa's piercing gaze.
  • "We're just wandering traders, you see-" interjected Reyes, stepping in to shield the Spiral's body. "-and have been lost for a little while." He takes a hand to his fur, producing a small piece of tapestry he had been working on the previous days. "A quilt for a map?"
  • The groups parted ways, the Aether short a quilt and with a new scroll with the local roads.
  • Maitho, to his despair, still had not sold a single piece of gold.

Starflower Grove (written by kiyoooo)
The next clan Maitho and Reyes found themselves in was a small grove, blanketed by the night sky. Reyes was looking forward to a new environment - he loved the stars, and was looking forward to a place full of nature and flowers.

As Reyes began to settle down in the inn, he noticed Maitho setting up a little stall outside their window. "What a nice idea!" Reyes thought. "I'd love to set up a stall for my quilts! Wouldn't it be nice if I could give some of the dragons here something warm and comfy." His mind made up, Reyes left the room to find Maitho, tapping him gently on the shoulder.

"Maitho, are you setting up a shop? Can I join you? I'd love to sell some of my quilts as well!" Reyes smiled up at him, his eyes becoming round and pleading. After a bit of grumbling, Maitho acquiesied, shifting over to the side. Smiling happily, Reyes put down the pile of quilts he was carrying, and sat down on the stool next to him.

Soon, there were a crowd of dragons around them. Reyes was overwhelmed very quickly with dragons who all wanted one of his quilts for themselves, and not long after he had run out of quilts to sell. He had also managed to get a few fabric scraps from dragons, who wanted to contribute to his quilt making.

After all the chaos was over, Reyes looked over at Maitho to see him looking slightly dejected. It seemed like he hadn't been able to sell any of the gold he was carrying. "Well," Reyes smiled comfortingly, perhaps we'll have more luck in the next clan!"

With the scraps that he'd gotten from the dragons, Reyes created a beautiful quilt made of interlocking green and pink scraps. He loved it, because it reminded him of all the flowers he saw in the grove!
