Biography
My name is Moth. I suppose I should write down my own story. I've been in the process of writing down everyone else's.
I was hatched in a land of darkness, the Tangled Wood. It was a fine home, to be sure. I had many siblings, and a fine mother; I fished in the murky river waters and took shelter in the trees to sleep soundly. But something was missing. I didn't know what it was until we received a visitor from the Light flight.
Such a dazzle. This dragon absolutely shone in every color I had never gotten a chance to imagine. I was enchanted, to put it simply. All evening I waited for my chance to speak to the visitor, but they were occupied with speaking to my mother on a matter of trade, and I am to this day a shy little flutter. Unfortunately, I did not catch their name. I watched them fly away into the stars with a longing in my heart.
But no matter. The visitor had opened my eyes. If there were colors like that out there in the world, if there was something more beyond the dark and gloom I was accustomed to, I wanted to see it. I needed to see it. There was a hole in my soul for the lack of it. And so I prepared for a trip to the Light flight.
However! An unseen air current tumbled my balloon right across the Sea of a Thousand Currents and the Windswept Plateau, and I ended up in the snow of the Southern Icefield.
My balloon was wrecked. I could not see in the blinding light that reflected off the snow. But my rations were unharmed, and I was not cold--I happen to be covered in fur. I slumbered under my balloon's basket for the day, and when the moon came out, I took everything I could carry and went in search of a cave.
I'm not usually one to shorten a long story, but my back hurts from stooping over this desk tonight and I am weary. I have found a family in the Creed of the Cube, and that is all I'd like to say on the matter. No, I am not interested in their geometric overlord. I am only interested in the chef's exquisite foods, Calliope's charming music, and most of all, in the clan's colorful stories. I have found my passion in taking down the tales of the world.
The fact that they gave me a library full of pretty lamps helps.
Moth is a little erratic but we love him for it. He's the one who writes bios for everyone. He also keeps records of all the clan's doings in his library. Although, he writes in cursive, and no one else in the clan can read it, so the records get...complicated.
