Location - A new phenomenon in the wild regions of the Ashfall Wastes, mainly around the Molten Scar, Flintlock Fumaroles, and Volcanic Vents.
Obsidian Dark Markings - Packs will always bath by the same lava pool or specific river spot. Some packs dust bath in ash and obsidian, while others take quick dips in the molten rock. This results in a variety of dark markings on the beasts. Additionally, different locations have different chemical makeups. The result is that different packs have unique and distinct appearances, scents, and even textures.
Tunnel Hydra
Pack Tactics - Where there is one, there is always at least 2 more. Basalt beasts are never alone. Packs will compete directly with Hydras, and this requires a team effort to deal with the many heads.
Flamescale Illusionist Social Teamwork - All food and resources are shared. If a pack member is sick, injured, or simply struggling, other members will always provide for them. Packs have also been seen teaming up with and trading with the Flamescale Serthis. The serthis are willing to part with poisons and parchment for weapons and jewelry.
