A B O U T - - - - - -

When one hears that Leneth's clan is a refuge for lost souls, young and old, they may initally assume that she is a warm and motherly persona.
Their assumption is as wrong as can be. The Ridgeback female is a snappy, grumpy and stern leader, ready to reign in whoever may be dancing out of order with a swift bark and, if necessary, force. Outwardly, one may wonder why she made the Refuge in the first place. Leneth doesn't give off the vibe that may be expected of someone who vowed to care for anyone who may need a roof over their head and a meal or two. Her much kinder and loving side is a privilege kept secret to all but a few individuals.
Regardless, no one is treated cruelly within her mix-and-match family and she would give her life to protect any single one of them if she had to, without a second thought.

B A C K G R O U N D - - -

Leneth was born and raised in the Clan of the Rising Phoenix under the watchful gaze and loving care of her parents, as well as the rest of the clan. Unlike her mother and father, she turned out to be a headstrong, wild spirit, ready to assert herself if necessary and unlikely to back down from anything, quick to pick fights when she was younger, and hard to shake up as she grew older, but her parents always loved her all the same. Her childhood was, in every sense of the word, just about perfect. But as she was reaching adulthood, she grew unhappy with remaining in the lair. It wasn’t that she didn’t love her home, but there was such a big world out there to be seen, explored, understood, that she wasn’t content with remaining in her birth lair and picking up a spot amongst the lair guards. No, there was something else out there for her. And she would find it.
Maybe it had been the time she spent with her father’s other mate, who was her half-brother’s mother, that caused her to feel this way. That one was, after all, a guardian dragon, known for their need for a charge. While Leneth loved her actual mother dearly, she did always get along better with what was essentially her other mother, seeing how their personalities seemed to line up so much better.
One way or another, she didn’t want to stay and as much as it pained her father, he let her go after she was old enough and had finished combat training to defend herself in the world outside their safe home.
Armed with little more than a pack of ample provisions, her natural weaponry and her wit, she set out to find her true place and calling in the world.
