She loves to paint, draw, sculpt or sew. However Areca can make her mark on the world, she intends to do it. She loves to craft and create, and she often carves the trees of the Verdant Wildwood that have died into new works of art to cherish the tree in death.

She is a social dragon, but she is very serious about her craft and will sometimes disappear for days at a time to focus on her current project. Areca is a diva at times. Her father Cestrum, though he loves her and is gushingly proud of her, is not afraid to tell her that she is being a prima donna. Her passion for doing her best can often step on the toes of others.

Her companion, a Slumbering Charlatan that she has named Mr. Tricksies, is often featured in her paintings as he is excellent at holding the same position for long periods of time....during naps, and siestas, and other periods of rest.
