Biography
Featured in the Lore Building Event for the Crystalline Gala of 2024
Nuphar is most comfortable when he blends a little bit into the background. He's not shy, he just likes camouflage - and being that one little glimmer of light reflecting off the water's surface.
The biggest impact Nuphar’s eyes have had on his life was when he met his mate - she would’ve walked right by him if the light hadn’t caught her eye, because otherwise he blends pretty much perfectly with the swampy waters she’d been passing through. As his role is to help raise assistants for the Lightweaver (fodder breeder), his personal level of magical power doesn’t really come into it - there are warriors for the actual training part - but it does make for funpropaganda demonstrations of the Lightweaver’s power when teaching the kids about her, to point to his funny-looking eyes.
He joined the clan when his mate Serva found him in a gutter.
Hobbies: sunbathing, hiding from his responsibilities
Favorite foods: prawns
Collections: dried flowers
General Primal lore:
Primal eyes at hatching depends less on conscious bestowing from the Eleven as it does on the ambient magical energies - perhaps the alignment of the stars, or magic used nearby at the time, or major events that happened on this exact spot 100 years ago to this day. Since this mostly comes out to, practically speaking, "luck of the draw", dragons generally treat it that way.
Some vial-changed dragons have lore that requires they were born with primal eyes, and some have lore about the change, so it generally depends/doesn't matter if the vial was applied re: mechanics of the website.
Primal eyes either boost or nudge the dragon towards an affinity for the element, especially if they(/their family/bloodline) weren't naturally inclined towards magic of that type. A natural-hatched primal's only advantage is having had more time (since birth) to get used to their powers. Otherwise, power level is more dependent on the individual than the way that they acquired their primal eyes.
