- Lacking a permanent base, all Drones within this Hive are either victims of assimilation or provided by Desolation's fellow Consciousnesses. The high concentration of assimilated Drones has yielded a greater than typical number of defects. As such, all recently assimilated Drones are monitored closely to ensure security risks are promptly eliminated.
- Due to the unusual nature of fauna within the Scarred Wasteland, as well as the minimal chance of any who come into contact with Desolation surviving without undergoing assimilation, Hive-9's presence remains largely undetected, its true nature unknown to outsiders.
