Biography
- gender neutral (she/they)
- there was once a large tree full of life and Nature magic, before it was struck in a terrible lightning storm and split
- the largest piece of the tree gained life as a dragon and walked off, leaving the remaining, scattered scraps to be scavenged for use by artisans or otherwise
- some of these pieces were carved into beautiful shapes, others became firewood, and still others sat quietly in stockpiles, awaiting their eventual fate
- but two pieces were left behind in the aftermath of the lightning strike, exposed to the elements, and destined to return to the earth
- forgotten, they were on the edge of their lifetime when they happened to land in the hoard of the Sunset King
- the powerful Archfey, with a penchant for lost things, held on to them for some time before sensing there was more to them and breathing life into the two pieces of twisted, aged wood
- as they opened their eyes for the first time, he ushered them out into the world to love, to play, and to cause mischief, as fey do
- a forgotten piece of the tree Gnora once was
- Gnora’s true charge, now that they have been given a life
- quiet like her mother, but not quite as distant—just awkward and unsure
- honestly rather melancholic for a fey; remembers her time alone and discarded, left to rot as an undesirable piece of wood, and it makes her quite sad :(
- even though they have been seperated from Gnora and the rest of the tree for many years, they have only just been granted a life of their own, and struggle with individuality and not viewing themselves as an extension of Gnora
“It is… hard to explain to a flesh-and-blood dragon. I did not see as you do, I did not live as you do, but I was aware. I was aware of my roots, of my leaves. I was aware as the searing pain as lightning tore me to pieces. I was aware—dimly—of a piece departing, and I was aware of the life fading from my grain as the elements claimed me. All the while, I was one. I was not one of many, I was not a part of the tree, I was the tree.
And now I am me…”
