Bravely

Bravely is in his workshop again. He has been tinkering on his newest invention for months now. A suit, an automaton, specifically built to easily find hard to reach raw materials. Bravely’s previous tests were promising, but not successful. The first test showed that the material Bravely had used was too brittle. The second test had the automaton’s motor overheat. And so on and so forth. Bravely was at prototype number fifteen now, but he is close to perfection. He can feel it!

And sure enough, a few hours later, prototype fifteen is complete! Bravely wants to test it out straight away! But, he knows that good testing can only be done after a meal and a good night’s rest, so he makes a reservation in one of the mines to test his invention tomorrow, and heads off to take care of himself. He makes himself a good meal, with lots of tasty ingredients, and then heads off to sleep. Bravely hasn’t been in the sleeping quarters for a while, and every time he enters it he’s surprised by how cozy it is. That’s how you keep things fresh for yourself, probably. He quickly drifts off to sleep after lying down, and dreams of a successful test.

When the next morning comes, Bravely quickly grabs some breakfast before heading off to the mines with his prototype. He puts the mechanical suit down when inside a tunnel that isn’t used by the miners today, and gets to work. Other than most automatons, this suit doesn’t require the pilot to be inside of it. At least, that’s what Bravely’s plan is. Instead, he grabs a small trinket with loads of buttons and lights, and pressed the biggest button on it. It takes a moment, but then all the lights on the small device start burning and prototype fifteen comes to live.

It’s time to begin that test.
