Magni

Magni has always been destined for greatness. Born into royalty, as the oldest son, he will one day be the ruler of this domain. And that is something that he has always taken very seriously.

Sadly, not everybody seems to like him, or his family. Lately, whispers of an uprising have been growing stronger. Louder. A revolution would mean the end of Magni’s family, for certain. And so Magni’s father has been launching attacks on those rumored to be revolutionaries. Magni has always supported this. The public isn’t suffering and isn't struggling for survival. They are fed, they are housed, they are healthy. What else is there to ask for? If you ask Magni, this whole uprising reeks of jealousy, and of ungratefulness. Don’t they know how much the family does for them? To keep them safe? To keep them fed? It annoys Magni to no end. So much so even, that after another attack is launched by his father, Magni decides to head out himself. To head into the public, with a disguise of course, to see what ungrateful brats are trying to ruin the peace for everyone else.

This turns out to be a big mistake.

As soon as Magni reaches the lower parts of the city, he sees the slums for the first time. Entire families of dragons, living together in lairs that are barely holding together, feeding on whatever scraps they can find. The citizens are dirty, skinny, tired… And most importantly, they are fed up with his family. Magni heads back in a hurry, to relay this information to his father. Something must be done to help these citizens! He pleads a compelling case towards his father, but the response Magni gets isn’t what he is expecting. “My son, these people are poor because we need workers. They will not do the dirty, ungrateful jobs if they are rich!”, his father tells him. “It’s all designed to stay like this, otherwise this whole city will no longer function!”

And on that day, Magni becomes a revolutionary.
