Kael is a bookish and soft-spoken dragon who'd spent nearly all of his life reading in the subterranean book vaults deeply buried in the mantle of Rydosha. Although possessing very little magic himself, Kael dedicated his life to uncovering the secrets of the arcane. For years his work was purely theoretical until he received a transmission from a vessel known as Coroumir V, asking for his assistance.

The crew aboard the ship consisted a small found family: Reese, Evangeline, Maple, Discipline, and Wythra. Simply passing through a secluded sector on the edge of a far-flung star system, the little crew found themselves confronted with cloaked ship. Aboard, the crew all seems to have been mysteriously cursed.
