Familiar: Scuti, a Frigid Gem Guardian that joins Scutum in protecting the clan with its magic and gives Scutum mana when he runs out of energy with the gem that it guards.
Role description: Scutum is part of the defense that Perseus is the head of as a powerful warlock with his team, Lynx and Horologium. His protective personality is a valuable trait to have for the role.
Hobbies: Reading, practicing spells, collecting gems and crystals, and experimenting with magic whether it is ethical or not.

Past: Scutum grew up in his former clan with parents that seemed to have familiars with gems and crystals, and seemingly having an interest in such materials themselves. He was raised with the idea of having the same hobby but instead of keeping them because they were shiny, he collected them for the mana that was stored inside. His parents didn't see the potential of crystals but Scutum did and after quite literally eating some, his magical power as an Ice Aether grew. He felt as though his clan was tying him down and holding him back from his ambition to get stronger and travelled to the Arcane territories after he heard that the region had the purest forms of mana-filled gems. His familiar, Scuti, came along with him considering he was gifted the familiar as he was growing up in the clan by his parents, considering their interest.

Scutum came across Cephus when they both stumbled upon a huge crystal supply. He was ready to fight Cephus for the hoard but the Fae suggested they share which he was okay with. Eventually after meeting with each other at the same hoard over and over, Cephus gave him the offer to join the clan which he accepted and got recruited into Perseus' clan defense because of his strong magical power. Scutum found a new sense of purpose, and being considered a powerful defender inspired him to be protective over the other dragons living there.

Present: Scutum continues to be a defender of the clan as a powerful warlock and his power only grows as he goes on. Unfortunately, some of his experiments with magic seem to be very questionable, and does them in secret knowing that the others may not approve of that activity.

He met his mate when he was exploring the coast of the Arcane territories to find gems that only appeared at such a place. The Water Druid Aether was very curious about him. His secretive self didn't want to get close to any dragon so that he could only focus on his studies but something about her has him relax and open up to her. Scutum visited the same spot and she was always there to talk about a variety of things. Eventually, he asked her to join the clan and become his mate for life, which was agreed to enthusiastically.
