The water looks sick.

Why does it have... a face? It was murky and muddy. Nobody would dare touch it. Right?

The dragon's scales glimmered like steel in the dim light of the cave as he stood motionless, staring intently at the strange substance before him. He could sense that something was not right about it, and his instincts urged him to approach it with caution. Meanwhile, the murky creature behind him quivered with fear, its eyes darting around nervously.

The dragon's smoke-coloured wings lowered as if to tell the river muck that he was friendly. It started flowing towards him, curiosity and wariness sparking in its eyes.

That was how a companionship started.
