Vicros is the son of a wood-elf carpenter and human merchant. He has always had a thirst for knowledge and interest in magic. He had hoped to become a wizard, but his family's modest background pushed him towards pursuing his studies through less academic means. Vicros struggled with wizardry, as his only guidance came from a limited number of books he could get his hands on.

Vicros discovered a tattered ritual book in an abandoned library. In an attempt at one of the rituals, he mistakenly summoned a Fiend. It offered Vicros a deal: in exchange for magical knowledge and infernal power, the warlock must kill in order to sustain the Fiend's life force. This particular Fiend has no physical form - at least for now - and communicates either by speaking into Vicros' mind, or through written Infernal in the empty pages of the ritual book. In addition to feeding off of death, the Fiend also has a penchant for rocks. Vicros can occasionally be found collecting rocks to appease it.

Despite Vicros' outwardly easygoing demeanor, his calmness and patience are little more than a mask that he utilizes to gain the trust of others. He often lies to conceal his strong desire for forbidden knowledge, and is convinced that people are always trying to steal his secrets. Vicros knows that his Fiend's ritual book and Book of Shadows could reveal many unsavory things about himself. He highly values knowledge above all else. He is willing to make sacrifices, both at his own expense and that of others, for the sake of knowledge.
