"When you look like the sky you might as well take inspiration from it." - Cecil

It could be said some dragons have a sixth sense. They have an inept ability to see something, hear something others cannot. Some can make out the hazy shapes of spirits still clinging to this world, souls trapped between the two planes and caught in an endless limbo. Others can smell new life in a land stripped bare by war and greed.

Some could foretell things. The future, the actions of others, the ending of an (already predictable) story. Cecil- Cecil could see the weather. Most laughed at him for his simple but awe-inspiring skill, what good would telling the future weather do when spring, summer, fall and winter would continue in an endless cycle? The weather was already predictable, there was no need to foretell which days would bring rain or how long a drought would run.

But what about the days the sky rained ash? When the floods would bring molten or when the snow brought a day darker than a moonless night? None would listen to Cecil when his greatest premonition struck him. None would hear out the fiery drake, not even a nod of acknowledgement. So he would paint. He would paint the impending doom.

Perhaps, if he was lucky, some dragon would take an interest and inquire. Would heed his warnings. Or, perhaps, he would just make a pretty penny off his invaluable skills and ability and high tail it out of there. Whichever came first.
