Have you ever seen a Spiral dragon wind and weave through water like a penguin through Arctic seas or an anaconda through Amazonian rainforests?
For being part of a normally airborne species, Whirli is particularly at home in the saltwater eddies and tide of the ocean; one could be convinced that he breathes water like an eel, in fact that was close to being his name, until clanmates saw in the hatchling an affinity for making small whirlpools by repeatedly swimming in circles.
He is the only one of the clan to become particularly close friends with Trench. Although he canβt dive nearly as far down, he can still often be seen bounding along the waves like a dolphin while the abyssal dragon flows behind like a whale.
