The Lantern Sharks, a Water Flight Subspecies, are characterized by their dark coloration and intense luminescent colorful jaws. They blend into the depths of the sea, only noticeable when their bioluminescence activates. The nearly neon colors ripple and pulse in complex patterns, a silent language that's replaced their verbal communication. It's quite difficult for an outsider to parse, made up of many esoteric factors like pulse intensity and radiance. These dragons find it difficult to communicate with others in the Water Flight, preferring to stay in isolated groups as many find their silence and indecipherable language unsettling. Their natural camouflage lends itself to deep sea fishing, which provides most of their livelihood. Their silence can seem intimidating, but they form strong familial bonds and care for one another deeply. Some younger members are attempting to relearn speech to facilitate communication. They can be found anywhere there's abyssal zones, their metallic bodies allowing them to withstand intense pressure. They regularly form colonies on the continental shelves, living in the upper zones and diving and hunting in the open depths.
