Days like these always make Nieve reminisce. She pulls her blanket tighter and stares outside at the white layer covering her home.

Nieve doesn't remember much of her old life. Honestly, she's done everything not to remember it. She decided to start over a while back, and that is what she did. Even on days like these, she tries not to think back. But it isn't always that easy. Sometimes, the allure to explore her past is quite strong.

Today was one of the days she allowed herself to remember. She has always been a warrior, known by her appearance as the "Pink Knight". Even back then, she served loyally and empathetically. She didn't want her occupation to corrupt the ideals she believed in. She still doesn't.

She had a mate in the past. They sired many children, most raised as warriors and sent out to serve one deity or another. They made her proud, even if she didn't get to spend much time with them.

Thinking about her children sent a pang through her heart - one that she hadn't felt in a very long time. Sometimes, an old warrior like her misses having younglings to raise and train when they're of age. It is one of the things she left behind when she started a new leaf.

She sighs, content at leaving her memories and feelings where they belong: in the past. She stood up from her seat and threw on her armour. She might as well turn her energy into a patrol.

Nieve's longing is like a call on the wind. It is a pigeon carrying a message to those who listen. It swept and blew till it came upon the doorstop of a particular dragon. A dragon who knows much about love and family. A dragon who decides to heed the call.
