Mundus

" Pale moonlight, barely breaking through the clouds. A dragon wanders restlessly through the night, stepping firmly, barely dropping his pace. His entire body honed for protection. Finally, the clouds split apart and the moon reveals itself. Silver light illuminates the land and the mountains. He dances, he runs, he flies with unbridled power. And with with entranced roar he shows his true power. "

When Astrolab had crashed to Arcane Domain, Mundus, one of the many Aethers to emerge. He had been thrilled first with possibility to become Guard of Sanctum, only to find out that Arcane had no such thing but place called Oculus of the Eleven where other elements were analyzed and leaving him empty pawed. Mundus looked moon at his home between Arcane and Ice, Moonbeam Aqueducts. Ever since relevation he had no real purpose he hadn´t really eaten much, his resentment toward Arcanist had taken over. Why did they have Sanctum too? It wasn´t fair that some other dragons got important duty to protect Sanctum from Shade corrupted creatures and members of Beastclans that weren´t in for friendship.

Creamy furred Aether growled then and soon roared, at the sky. It was not fair! Years did he sit and wait in Astrolab and now that he was finally at home he was useless. He wasn´t needed, not in research nor as protector. Mundus used his long tail to strike rocks, pieces falling to water, occasionally roaring to moon as in to gain more power and pushing him futher to rage.

He was enraged and envious. He struck rocks and aqueduct structure, water splashed to him, soaking his hair but he didn´t care.

Mundus glared at moon again, before he could let loose another roar he heard familiar voice, kind and soft " Mundus... please stop. " Aether looked up to tallest rock, in there stood lead colored Aether, older than him elder Celestia. Seeing older Aether, Mundus seemed to calm down, a little bit at least. Elder flew to him " Oh Mundus... I heard you were enraged... what´s wrong? " she asked, Mundus growled in frustration " It´s that... it´s Oculus of the Eleven and Arcanist! For years I waited I could become something great and then... nothing, there´s no Sanctum for me! Others get to guard theirs but not... me... " young Aether started to cry then, Celestia pulled him to hug " No more tears... Mundus... I know that you feel useless but... recently I heard news from elder Fulgur from Shifting Expanse... Guard of Stormcatch Sanctum has been discharged.... they felt same as you.... " she murmured. Mundus looked her " What? What happened? " he was confused, why was guard discharged? Guard was good, talented. Celestia sighed, looking sad " Sanctum was decommisioned and turned to reactor... powering Turrets of Goldensparc. They were... enraged, trying to get in old Sanctum. Both dragon and Beastclan members tried to stop them, it didn´t work out. Fulgur managed to calm them down luckily. " Mundus took step back " At least they got to be a guard... I never got it... " Mundus sat down, he ran out of steam, all he could do now was to frown and pout.

Celestia sighed and sat down too " I know... but there´s always something. I heard that Aether that protected Starwood Strand has departed and joined group of Ancients. " she told him, younger dragon looked unhappy still. Elder took deep breath before finishing " Mundus, guard or not... you get to decide what you do with your life. You don´t need to do research... perhaps... it´s time you spread your wings and see Sornieth too... to clear your thoughts. I figure it´s what you need after years of isolation in space. " Mundus lifted his head " What? I should... travel? Are you... are you sure it´s good idea? " he asked which Celestia nodded to, she always knew what was best. Young Aether didn´t response, it sounded fine but he was hesitant. He needed time to consider. Perhaps... perhaps elder Celestia was right, journey through Sornieth could do him some good. Getting to visit other domains could give him new ideas of what to do... good thing he had time, plenty of it.
