Biography
Wetfin
Wetfin is an elderly dragon who has been fishing for an extremely long time, even since long before he came to the Shifting Expanse. He has won many fishing competitions over his lifetime, but mostly he has fished for the various clans he has stayed with over his long lifetime. The Shifting Expanse may seem like an odd choice for his retirement spot, but that’s the interesting part — it’s not his retirement spot. Wetfin has lived a long time and deserves retirement, but he refuses to take it. He intends to spend the rest of his days fishing. Electrician’s Edge is just another spot on the map for him, the Clan of the Striking Bolt is just another temporary stop for him — although it’s been long enough that it might not be so “temporary”.
Wetfin goes fishing frequently for the Clan of the Striking Bolt, and whenever he does, he drags whatever hatchlings are available along with him so he can regale them with the tales of his glory days. The hatchlings are resistant to going fishing with him — they can only hear him brag about the time he caught a fish “this big!” so many times, and they don’t want to get up early to go crawling underground for scarce water sources, searching for rare desert fish. But it’s good socialization for them to spend time with their elders, as Pegasus reminds them frequently, and so the hatchlings have no choice in the matter but to accompany Wetfin.
Along with refusing to retire, Wetfin hasn’t slowed down one bit. He’s just as stubborn and bold as he was in his youth, and perhaps as grown even more stubborn and bold with age. However, with age he has gained a great love for hatchlings, and those who are less intolerant of his fishing trips are happy to tag along with him, and have even begun to consider him like a grandfather figure. After all, they’d rather have a sour, fishy-smelling grandfather than a grandfather who has that old-dragon smell.
